The Iraqi National Journal of Geosciences held its periodic meeting of the editorial board electronically on Monday evening, December 15, 2025 at nine o’clock in the evening, in the presence of the chairman of the editorial board and members of the commission.

The meeting began with welcoming the new members, assistant professor Dr. Bashar Aziz Al-jeraisi from the College of science at the University of Mosul, in addition to welcoming both Professor Dr. Rashid pourmizrani and professor Dr. Mehdi Rahnama from the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing the importance of their joining and their scientific role in supporting the March of the magazine.

The meeting dealt with a number of important topics related to the work of the Journal, the most prominent of which was the review of the latest updates to the electronic journal system, and the transition to the new system of open access journals (OJS).

The meeting also reviewed the efforts exerted in transferring researchers ‘ accounts and archived research from the old system to the new system, as well as discussing the technical and administrative challenges facing the workflow, discussing ways to develop the Journal and upgrade the level of its scientific research, and also discussing the rates of artificial intelligence acquisition in accordance with scientific standards

At the end of the meeting, the discussion was opened for the members of the editorial board to put forward their opinions and suggestions, which contributes to achieving the objectives of the Journal and strengthening its scientific foundations.
