The scene of seminars at the Department of chemistry

The Department of chemistry witnessed the holding of seminars for graduate students (PhD and master), on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the conference hall, including:

  1. Shaima Khalaf Mohammed-PhD student in organic chemistry, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Shaima Khazal.
Her seminar dealt with the preparation of Alpha-aminoazol/azine compounds as a basic building block, to be introduced into one-step multicomponent reactions using green chemistry techniques, with the aim of obtaining new heterocyclic compounds, and studying them spectroscopically and chemically.
  2. Anfal Mohammed Iqbal-master’s student in biochemistry, under the supervision of Professor Dr. lowai Abdul Ali.
The seminar included the evaluation of the Aminoacylase-3 enzyme in two pathological conditions, gestational diabetes and polycystic ovaries, in addition to studying a number of previously unexplored enzymes in these two diseases, and indicating the extent of the enzyme’s correlation as a vital indicator to them, and its relationship to the studied variables.
  3. Abdul Rahman Saad Abdul Jabbar-master’s student in Analytical Chemistry, under the supervision of assistant professor Dr. Lamia Adnan Najib.
The episode dealt with the spectral estimation of the sulfadiazine compound in its pharmaceutical preparations based on the oxidative coupling reaction with pyrocallol, as one of the modern, sensitive and simple methods at the same time, characterized by Ease of application and high accuracy in the estimation of drugs.

We wish our teachers and students continued success and success.
