In a sports atmosphere full of enthusiasm and honest competition, the College of Science / University of Mosul held the activities of the basketball tournament for first-stage students, which aims to develop team spirit and promote sports activities among students besides their academic career.

The first day of the tournament, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, witnessed the holding of two matches, the results of which resulted in the forensic evidence Department winning over the physics department with a score of (2-1) with the end of the match time, to qualify the forensic evidence Department to the second round, while the renewable energies Department won over the chemistry department with a score of (3-0).

The second day, on Monday, January 5, 2026, was marked by a high competitive level, as the Biology sciences department beat the Geology and Petroleum sciences department with a score of (3-0), while the forensic evidence department achieved a well-deserved victory over the life sciences department with a score of (4-0), thus reserving its seat in the final match of the championship, provided that the opposing team and the date of the meeting will be announced later.

This tournament is one of the student activities that the College of science is keen to organize in support of the spirit of cooperation and positive competition among students, in a way that contributes to building a balanced personality that combines scientific excellence and physical activity.
