The Department of Biology Sciences at the College of Science held a ceremony on Thursday morning, October 9, 2025, under the patronage of the Dean, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and in the presence of the Vice Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs and the Head of the Department, to honor a select group of its distinguished professors who received academic promotions in recognition of their academic and research contributions.

The honorees included:

• Professor Dr. Faten Nouri Mulla Abdul
• Professor Dr. Anmar Ahmed Dawood Al-Tai (promoted to Professor)
• Dr. Enas Abdul-Moneim Hussein
• Dr. Jahan Muwaffaq Saeed
• Ms. Najwa Mahfouz Ahmed (promoted to Assistant Professor)

Assistant Professor Iman Redha Jassim was also honored on the occasion of her retirement in recognition of her scholarly contributions.

In her address, the Dean praised the efforts of the honored professors, emphasizing that the first promotion through the new electronic system was for Professor Dr. Anmar Al-Tai, and noting that these promotions serve as an incentive to continue academic excellence and innovation.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative plaques and congratulations to the honored professors amidst an atmosphere of joy and appreciation.
