A college member from the College of Science participates in the discussion of a doctoral dissertation at the College of Medicine – Tikrit University

Based on the College of Science’s commitment to promoting scientific activities, strengthening academic cooperation among Iraqi universities, and facilitating the exchange of scientific expertise among college members, Dr. Anmar Ahmed Dawood, a professor in the Department of Biology Sciences at the College of Science, participated in the discussion of a doctoral dissertation at the College of Medicine, Tikrit University, Department of Microbiology, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The dissertation, titled “Molecular Detection of Adenovirus 3 and 7 Serotypes in Adults with Respiratory Tract Infections and Their Effect on Interleukin-6, Interleukin-8, and Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha Levels,” was presented by doctoral candidate Wria Ahmed Tawfiq.

The study aimed to detect adenoviruses of types 3 and 7 in adult patients with respiratory tract infections and to investigate their relationship to interleukin-6, interleukin-8, and Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha levels in Kirkuk. It also aimed to determine the genotypes of these two types and to identify the influence of certain hematological factors on infection.
