Department of Biology to Discuss PhD Dissertation of Student Nassar Ghani Sabri Bakr Al-Hayali

By the will of Allah, the Department of Biology, College of Science, will hold the defense of the PhD dissertation submitted by Nassar Ghani Sabri Bakr Al-Hayali, entitled:

“The Effect of Ultraviolet Radiation, Salinity, and Ascorbic Acid Treatment on Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) and the Allelopathic Role of Its Vegetative Parts on Soybean (Glycine max L.)”

The dissertation aims to investigate the response of rapeseed plants to environmental stress factors such as salinity and ultraviolet radiation, and to evaluate the role of ascorbic acid in enhancing plant tolerance to these stresses. It also explores the allelopathic effects (biochemical interactions) of rapeseed residues on the growth of other crops, particularly soybean, in support of sustainable agricultural practices.

The defense will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, in Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Haj Qasim Hall at the Department of Biology.

The examination committee consists of:
