Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi (respected), and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim (respected), and the follow-up of the Head of the Department of Geology and Petroleum, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Khalloq Mohammed (respected), the Department of Geology and Petroleum at the College of Science organized a tree-planting campaign in the department’s gardens and corridors as part of its ongoing efforts to support environmental initiatives and promote a culture of sustainability.

The campaign witnessed the participation of a number of academic staff, employees, and students in an atmosphere reflecting teamwork and collaboration. Several seedlings and plants were planted with the aim of increasing green spaces and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the campus environment, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of preserving nature and caring for the university surroundings.

This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to providing a healthy and attractive educational environment that supports sustainability and strengthens students’ sense of social responsibility.

In conclusion, we wish our beloved college continued progress and prosperity, and that it remains a green oasis of knowledge, beauty, and creativity, serving as a distinguished model in environmental care and sustainability.
