Dr. Nagham Salem, a faculty member in the Department of Renewable Energy at the College of Science, University of Mosul, participated in the 31st International Scientific Conference jointly organized by the Psychological Research Center, Al-Hadba University, and Noon Center for Specialized Research and Studies.

The conference was held under the theme: “Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity” at Al-Hadba University during 22–23 April 2026.

Dr. Nagham presented her research titled:

“Visual Lips Reading for Arabic Words Based on VGG16 Very Deep Learning”

The study is based on deep learning techniques and lip movement analysis to recognize Arabic single words using the VGG16 model.

The conference included the discussion of 46 high-quality scientific papers presented by a group of researchers and academics.

This participation was supported by the University Presidency, represented by Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and followed up by the Deanship of the College of Science, represented by Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, as well as the Department of Renewable Energy (Department of Renewable Energy), aiming to enhance the research and academic level of the university.
