College of Science Receives a University Presidency Committee from the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance to Assess the Implementation of Iraqi Laboratory Standards

As part of its continuous efforts to promote a culture of quality assurance and academic accreditation, the Deanship and academic departments of the College of Science welcomed the Central Laboratory Accreditation Committee on Monday, 6 April 2026, during a field visit accompanied by members of the College’s Quality Assurance Division.

This visit reflects the College’s commitment to implementing the highest scientific and academic standards. It aimed to conduct a comprehensive and detailed evaluation of the educational and research laboratories and assess the extent of their compliance with laboratory quality requirements in accordance with the latest approved ministerial guidelines.

The inspection tour covered several key areas that demonstrate the laboratories’ readiness and operational efficiency, including:

  • Field Inspection: Evaluating the condition of laboratory equipment and instruments, as well as their operational efficiency and maintenance procedures.
  • Occupational Safety: Verifying the implementation of safety and security standards to ensure a safe laboratory environment for students, researchers, and staff.
  • Scientific Documentation: Reviewing laboratory records, documentation systems, and operational procedures to ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements and institutional standards.

This visit is part of an integrated institutional approach adopted by the College of Science to enhance laboratory infrastructure, strengthen confidence in its educational and research outputs, and ensure alignment with scientific and technological advancements. These efforts contribute to achieving institutional excellence and supporting the College’s academic and research mission.
