The College of Science at the University of Mosul organized a scientific workshop titled “Hope as a Civilizational Value in Ramadan Discourse” on Sunday, 8 March 2026, held at the discussion hall of the Department of Physics. The event was conducted in collaboration with the University Psychological Counseling Division, the College’s Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, the Psychological Counseling Division at the University Presidency, and Al-Noor University.
The workshop aimed to highlight the role of Ramadan discourse in reinforcing values of hope and optimism, while promoting humanitarian and civilizational principles within society. The program included two scientific lectures delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Erada Abdulkhaleq Khalil and Dr. Karam Mufid Jasim from Al-Noor University. The lectures addressed key themes related to the role of religious and cultural discourse in spreading a culture of hope and its contribution to building a cohesive society based on values of understanding, solidarity, and cooperation.

The workshop aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through knowledge dissemination and awareness, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by supporting psychological and social stability, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting tolerance and social cohesion.
