In a step aimed at fostering a culture of innovation, knowledge investment, and strengthening the connection between scientific research and societal needs, the College of Science organized a specialized workshop entitled “Mechanisms for Marketing Scientific Outputs.” The workshop was held under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim.

The workshop took place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Martyr Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hamdani Hall in the Department of Geology and Petroleum Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology Parks at the University Presidency.

The workshop aimed to promote a culture of knowledge investment, enhance mechanisms for marketing research outputs, and strengthen their alignment with market and community needs. It also highlighted the procedures for protecting intellectual property rights and transforming applied research into investable projects. These objectives are closely aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Rayan Salem Mahmood, Dr. Ibtisam Yahya Abdullah, and Assistant Lecturer Hala Munir Yahya. The presenters discussed both the theoretical foundations and practical mechanisms of scientific output marketing, beginning with identifying the market value of research ideas, moving through intellectual property protection procedures, and concluding with the development of effective marketing plans and sustainable strategic partnerships.

The speakers also showcased successful models and experiences in transforming academic research into practical and investable projects, emphasizing the importance of integration among scientific departments and institutional collaboration in promoting innovation and knowledge-based investment.

The College of Science extends its best wishes to its distinguished academic staff for continued success and excellence in their scientific and research endeavors and wishes them good health and ongoing achievements.
