Workshop on “Combating Violent Extremism”

The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Science is organizing a workshop entitled “Combating Violent Extremism”, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Dr. Mahmoud Al-Haj Qasim Hall, Department of Biology.

The workshop will be delivered by Professor Dr. Ryan Tawfiq Khalil, Iraq’s representative to the International Islamic Fiqh Academy – Jeddah, who will address key concepts related to violent extremism, its psychological and social causes, and strategies for prevention within the university environment. The workshop aims to promote a culture of moderation and strengthen the values of dialogue, tolerance, and mutual respect among students.

The College Deanship invites academic staff and students to attend and actively participate in this important event, which contributes to enhancing intellectual stability and fostering a conscious, responsible university community.
