D3 deficiency Master thesis discusses the evaluation of fertility hormones and semen quality in people with vitamin

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Evaluation of fertility hormones and semen quality in people with vitamin D3 deficiency” presented by master’s student Munther Ahmed Ismail from the branch of Zoology.
The study aimed to assess the effect of vitamin D3 deficiency in male fertility hormones and semen quality, by measuring the level of the vitamin and a number of reproductive hormones, analyzing the physical and vital characteristics of semen, as well as comparing the effect of vitamin D3 therapy with other vitamin therapy and the control group, in order to determine its role in improving male reproductive function.
The results of the study showed a significant correlation between a low level of vitamin D3 and a decrease in a number of fertility indicators, including the levels of some reproductive hormones and semen characteristics. The results also showed that vitamin D3 therapy contributed to a significant improvement in a number of semen quality indicators and levels of some fertility hormones compared to the group that received other vitamins, while the control group showed normal values of the studied indicators.
The study confirmed the importance of vitamin D3 as an influential factor in supporting male reproductive health, pointing to the possibility of using it as an aid in improving fertility in those with a deficiency. She also recommended the need to investigate the level of vitamin D3 in men with impaired fertility, and conduct more clinical studies to confirm its role in raising the efficiency of reproductive function and improving therapeutic results.
The discussion Committee was chaired by Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Mohammed Al-Jubouri, and the membership of assistant professor Dr. Haitham Luqman Shihab, assistant professor Dr. Abeer Atallah Ayed, while the thesis was supervised by teacher Dr. Muwaffaq Khalil Hassan.
We wish our dear students continued success and success .
