A training program for students of the Department of Earth and petroleum Sciences

The first activities of the oil training program, organized by the energy pioneers/ Ninawa team in cooperation with the Department of Earth and petroleum sciences at the College of Science and the College of Petroleum and mining engineering – Mosul University, have been launched at the Faculty of science, as part of its efforts to qualify the Department’s students and graduates and enhance their readiness to integrate into the labor market, through a specialized training program provided by a selection of academics, experts, engineers and geologists working in the oil sector. The program opened with its first training courses entitled “Fundamentals of Drilling Engineering & Operations”, presented by engineer Omar Mohammed Qanbar, drilling engineer at the Iraqi drilling company, marking the launch of a series of specialized courses that will be held over a period of one and a half months. The program is one of the most prominent training initiatives in Nineveh Governorate, as it aims to enhance the applied aspect among the students of the Department of Earth and petroleum Sciences and participants, transfer field experiences, and build a knowledge and skill base that contributes to bridging the gap between academic study and work requirements in the oil, gas and geology sector, in order to support the preparation of competencies capable of keeping pace with the needs of this vital sector.
