Within the framework of scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities, assistant professor Dr. Angham Jabbar Alwan Salman, teaching at the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Science – University of Mosul, participated in the discussion of the master’s thesis tagged ” evolutionary analysis and molecular detection of some virulence genes and antibiotic resistance of Escherichia coli bacteria isolated clinically ” by master’s student Muhammad Nather Muhammad al-Qadu from the Faculty of basic education at Mustansiriya University, on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The aim of the thesis was to detect virulence factors and antibiotic resistance in isolates of E. coli bacteria. clinical coli, conducting an evolutionary analysis to indicate their distribution and relationship to various genetic aggregates of bacteria. The results showed a clear discrepancy in the distribution of virulence genes; genetic Group B2 recorded the highest genetic burden by having all the studied genes, while Group B1 showed a significant decrease, reflecting the difference in genetic and pathogenetic characteristics between the groups. The discussion Committee was chaired by Ms. Manal Khalid Mohammed, with the membership of: assistant professor Dr. Angham Jabbar Alwan Salman (University of Mosul)/ assistant professor Khalida Jalil Ibrahim, and under the supervision and membership of assistant professor Shahba Hamid Majid. At the end of the discussion, the dean of the Faculty of basic education at Mustansiriya University, professor Dr. Qusay Abdul Abbas Al-Obaid, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to assistant professor Dr. Angham Jabbar Alwan Salman, in appreciation of her active scientific participation and taking the trouble to travel, and her role in enhancing joint academic cooperation. This participation comes as a confirmation of the distinguished scientific presence of the Faculty of science teachers and their solid cognitive contributions in various university forums. Our wishes to our dear faculty members for the time of giving and excellence in their scientific career.
