A teaching from the Faculty of science participates in the discussion of a master’s thesis at the Faculty of education for girls

Within the framework of scientific and academic cooperation between the faculties of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Hadeel Ahmed Khalaf, lecturer of the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science of the University of Mosul, participated in the discussion of the master thesis tagged ” evaluation of the biological effectiveness of some extracts of the fungus Ganoderma lucidum isolated from the soil of household gardens and faculty of Electronics Engineering. The aim of the study was to isolate a number of fungi from the soil of domestic gardens and diagnose them molecularly based on its area, as well as to study some chemical and physical properties of Ganoderma lucidum mushroom extracts using FTIR and polarimeter technologies, and to analyze the active compounds in the extracts using HPLC technology. The results showed the presence of seven phenolic compounds in the studied extracts, and the effect of different concentrations of aqueous and ethanol extracts in isolated fungi was evaluated using a number of methods, and the results showed the superiority of ethanol extract in its efficiency on inhibiting the growth of the fungi under study. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Shamal Younis Abdul Hadi from the Faculty of education for Pure Sciences – University of Mosul as chairman, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Hadeel Ahmed Khalaf from the Faculty of Science – University of Mosul, and assistant professor Dr. Khalid Mahmoud Ahmed Kader from the Faculty of Agriculture – University of Salah al – Din, while Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Suleiman Hassan from the Faculty of education for girls-University of Mosul assumed supervision and membership of the committee. The participation of Prof. Dr. Hadeel Ahmed Khalaf in this discussion comes as a confirmation of the distinguished scientific presence of the Faculty of science teachers, and their contribution to supporting the process of graduate studies and enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between the faculties of the University of Mosul. After a thorough scientific discussion and the researcher’s defense of her thesis, the thesis was approved and the researcher was awarded a master’s degree with a full grade.
