Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Mohammed, lecturer at the Department of life sciences at the Faculty of science, chaired the discussion Committee of the master’s thesis of researcher Samir Suleiman Mohammed Al-Jubouri, at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences – University of Mosul, tagged ” assessment of the impact of the industrial theses of the Qayyara refinery on the environment of the Tigris river waters south of Mosul and its biodiversity ” . The dissertation dealt with the study of the impact of the industrial facilities of the Qayyara refinery on the water quality of the Tigris River and biodiversity, through the evaluation of a number of physicochemical and biological indicators, follow-up of seasonal changes in water properties and levels of some pollutants, as well as the use of microbiology indicators on the level of pollution.
