Seminar on cell death and oxidative stress in pregnant women with preeclampsia

The Department of life sciences at the Faculty of Sciences – University of Mosul, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, held a scientific seminar for a master’s student in zoology, Amna Bassam Mohsen Jarrow, at exactly ten o’clock in the morning, on the Hall of Professor Dr. Hana, in the presence of a number of department teachers and graduate students. The student presented a seminar entitled” The role of iron-dependent cell death and oxidative stress in the disturbance of some hepatic Kinetics in pregnant women with preeclampsia”, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mona Hussein Ali Janker. The seminar discussed the possible role of iron-dependent cell death (Ferroptosis) and oxidative stress in functional and biochemical changes associated with the liver in pregnant women with preeclampsia, highlighting the relevant cellular and molecular mechanisms, and their importance in understanding the complications associated with this pathology. These seminars are part of the scientific activities of the life sciences department, aimed at developing the skills of graduate students in presenting and discussing their research topics, and enhancing their scientific and academic abilities. Our wishes to the student are safe and to all full-time graduate students for success, excellence and success in their scientific and research career.
