Department in Brief – Biology
The Department of Biology at the University of Mosul was established in 1964 . Biology is one of the branches in modern natural sciences, it is a wide field and considered as a basic base for all sciences that study life and its multiple phenomena. We can say that it is the solid base of Modern Health Sciences. Biology also reveals the vital phenomena and processes that occur in living organisms and helps in the diagnosis of diseases. This is why it has occupied great importance among many sciences. Biology entered the fields of health, agriculture, food industry, laboratory analysis and environmental treatments.
