The Council of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Advances Academic Transformation Toward Artificial Intelligence and Reinforces Global Publishing Standards

The Council of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held its seventeenth open regular session for the academic year (2025–2026) on Sunday, March 5, 2026, at the college’s deanship headquarters. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel and attended by the assistant deans, heads of academic departments, and several officials from relevant administrative units.
The session began with a review of administrative and academic directives issued by the University Council, along with discussions on mechanisms for their implementation in line with current requirements, in a way that enhances institutional performance efficiency and promotes administrative coherence within the college.
The Council emphasized the need to update and develop course curricula in line with artificial intelligence applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. This includes introducing a specialized course in the field, integrating AI concepts across other subjects, and adopting some courses in English within academic programs.
The Council also stressed the importance of preparing and writing theses and dissertations in accordance with international scientific standards, ensuring alignment with the requirements for publication in reputable indexed databases, particularly Scopus.
The session concluded with a review of departmental reports and discussions of their content, within a framework that reinforces transparency, integrates roles, and supports sustainable institutional planning—thereby enhancing the college’s standing and advancing its academic and administrative performance within the university system.
