The Department of History at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Mosul, discussed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, a PhD dissertation entitled “Personal Ambitions and Their Role in Highlighting Political and Military Leaders during the Abbasid Era (132–334 AH / 749–945 AD).” A number of faculty members and postgraduate students attended part of the discussion.

The dissertation, presented by the student Nabhan Yousif Suleiman, examined aspects of personal ambition and its role in highlighting leaders in both the political and military spheres.
