The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Humanities discussed a master’s thesis on (the metaphor of the metaphor in the book of the great meanings of Ibn Qutaiba (d. 267 AH) on Thursday 3/11/2022,part of which was attended by a number of faculty teachers. The thesis submitted by the student dealt with (Ahmed Suleiman Khalaf Abdullah Al-Ajili) in the Department of Arabic Language, talking about the metaphor of the metaphor and its relationship to the truth in the singular and sentence, and its relationship to the principle of similarity and neighborliness, reading and interpretation.The letter touched on the statement of the concept of the metaphor of the metaphor and its application to the verses of the great meanings of Ibn Qutaiba, and how to achieve the metaphor of the metaphor in these verses, because of the expanded connotations they carry that are difficult to understand because of the difficulty of its material or the method of its authorship that combines language, rhetoric and literature. The letter aims to show the importance of the metaphor of metaphor in Arabic rhetoric in the analysis of texts after modern rhetoricians have gone through great strides in Western criticism, and we have found only some references in a number of ancient and modern books that have studied the term metaphor of metaphor, which prompted us to study it and
