Early Prevention of Extremism Leading to Terrorism

Under the patronage of the College Dean, the CDC Unit, in collaboration with the Planning sector, organized a scientific seminar titled “Early Prevention of Extremism Leading to Terrorism.”
This seminar is part of the unit’s ongoing programs aimed at raising awareness among students and the university community about the dangers of extremist ideologies and ways to prevent them.
A distinguished group of experts participated in the seminar, including:
- Dr. Hatem Ahmed Owaid
- Dr. Ahmed Farhan Mashaan
- Sheikh Faisal Haroush Salem Al-Jarba, Advisor to the Head of the Popular Mobilization Authority
- Major Nazem Ahmed Miqdad, Director of the Extremism Division at Nineveh Security Directorate
The seminar addressed several key topics, most notably the causes and contributing factors of extremism, the role of educational, security, and religious institutions in curbing the phenomenon, and the importance of early awareness in protecting youth from being drawn into extremist ideologies.
The event saw an active attendance from the college’s faculty and students, who enriched the discussions with their insightful questions and contributions. Attendees emphasized the importance of intensifying such awareness-raising activities due to their positive impact on building a conscious and resilient generation, protected from the dangers of terrorism and extremism.
