Master thesis in Electrical Department on Performance Improvement of the Switched Reluctance Motor in the Electric Vehicle Based on Modification of Motor Structure.
A Master thesis was discussed in the Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at the University of Mosul entitled, specialize in machines, entitled “Performance Improvement of the Switched Reluctance Motor in the Electric Vehicle Based on Modification of Motor Structure”, submitted by (Saif Khalid Sultan Mohammed), Supervised By Assist. Prof. Dr. Omar Sharaf Al-Deen Yahya Al-Yozbaky On Thursday, August, 10, 2023.
The thesis presented by, Saif Khalid Sultan Mohammed , aimed Enhancing the performance and characteristics of the switched Reluctance motor in terms of Maximize torque and efficiency and minimizing torque ripple by means of advanced optimization techniques and depending on change the geometry construction parameters that have the most influence on improving the performance and characteristics of the motor
The thesis discusses the importance of using the switched reluctance motor as one of the best motors in environmentally friendly electric vehicle applications, and reducing the use of internal combustion engines. Where the motor characteristics were analyzed and techniques were used to improve the geometry construction parameters of the motor, in order to improve the performance and characteristics of the motor represented by torque and efficiency and reduce torque ripple
The results showed that Through the proposed motor models, the peak torque values and the average torque were improved, in addition to reducing the motor weight and improving other motor characteristics.
