Master thesis defense on “Design and Simulation of the Network Link the First and Third Sites of the University of Mosul Using Optical Fibers”
A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Design and Simulation of the Network Link the First and Third Sites of the University of Mosul Using Optical Fibers”, submitted by (Taha Abdulsalam Taha Aldabbagh), Supervised By Assist. Prof. Dr. Saad Ahmed Ayoob as first supervisor and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tariq Yaseen as second supervisor. On Thursday, September, 7, 2023.
The thesis presented by, “ Taha Abdulsalam Taha Aldabbagh” , aimed to Design and simulation of an optical fiber network to connect the first and third sites of the University of Mosul, with a study of the factors affecting the quality of the optical signal transmitted via optical fibers.
The thesis discusses The basic design of the network, in addition to studying the effect of some factors on the optical signal, such as the magnetic field surrounding parts of the network, and the effect of using optical signal amplifiers on the quality of the signal used to transmit data over optical fibers.
The results showed High efficiency of optical fibers in terms of data transmission speed, information security, accuracy, signal quality reaching the recipient, and the signal reaching long distances without the need to use repeaters.
