Meeting of Industrial Advisory Board of Department of Civil Engineering

As part of the regular meetings of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Civil Engineering Department, the second meeting for the 2025–2026 academic year was held at the Civil Engineering Department on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Baraa Jabbar Mahmood, and attended by the members of the Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.
During the meeting, several key topics were discussed, including: Updating the curriculum to better meet labor market requirements and industry expectations. Enhancing student learning opportunities by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications and computer-based tools studied throughout the academic program. Providing training and professional development opportunities for students through strengthened cooperation between educational institutions and relevant governmental organizations.
The participants also emphasized the vital role of the Industrial Advisory Board in enhancing the quality of the educational process and monitoring the implementation of future academic plans. These efforts contribute to improving the academic and professional competencies of students and preparing qualified engineering graduates capable of meeting the requirements of sustainable engineering.
