As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul and its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering, in cooperation with the Sustainable Development Unit at Department of Studies and Planning of University of Mosul Presidency, organized a training course entitled “Solar Water Heaters: Design, Installation, Operation, and Maintenance.” The course was held from 18 to 22 October 2026.

The course aimed to enhance the skills of academic staff and engineers in identifying different types of solar water heaters, understanding their designs, and learning the methods of installation, operation, and maintenance. It also sought to promote the utilization of solar energy and its sustainable applications.

The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Khalid Ibrahim, Lecturer Dr. Mahmoud Osama Jassim, Lecturer Dr. Ali Ghazi Mohammed, Lecturer Dr. Ali Azzam Mohammed, and Lecturer Sufian Abdulhakim Mohammed.
