A student from Department of Computer Engineering wins Translator Student Competition program for the Middle East and North Africa
The student, Mariam Ghazwan Dhaher, who is in2nd stage in Department of Computer Engineering won the Translator Student Competition program for the Middle East and North Africa after qualifyingfor the final stages of the program organized by Wikipedia Foundation and Ideas Beyond Borders Foundation with funding from Google. Where the student won 3rd place In the final results with ascore of 96.76%as the best translator and article editor among a large number of universities students.The competition consisted of two stages. The first stage was one test for the purpose of qualifying to enter the training course and competition. The second stage consisted of translating several articles for Wikipedia. After evaluating the quality of translation and editing of the articles, points were calculated.The competition is sponsored by Beit Al-Hikma2and Ideas Beyond Borders Foundation, in addition to Wikipedia and Google.
