Master Thesis at Department of Computer Engineering on ” Development of Routing Protocol for Low Power Lossy Networks for IoT Environment “

A Master Thesis was discussed in Department ofComputer Engineering at CollegeofEngineering / University ofMosul, entitled ” Development of Routing Protocol for Low Power Lossy Networks for IoT Environment “on August 23, 2021, submitted by postgraduate student ( Nariman Hadaya ).The Thesis dealt with access to a reliable network with low energy consumption and solving the problems facing it .
The study dealt with solving a problembottleneckTo propose an algorithm for load balancing and to solve the problem of selecting low-power nodes. It is suggested to take the residual energy of the node when calculating (OF)And choose the best path. For networkpalmUh hasbeen proposed (oF)new to improveRPLWhere three measures are taken into account sequentially:Load, Residual Energy, ETX).
Use in the thesis (CoojaSimulator)To simulate the above suggestions.
Show that the height PDRby40.59%.In terms of power consumption, the proposed protocol succeeded in reducing the total power consumption by132.16mWIn thenetwork of60knots, either in thesame network of70knots, with three bands sending(40meters,50meters and60meters), theProtocol hasachieved theproposed increase in therate ofPDRby54.305%,58.425%, and2.75%.
The proposed protocol also reduced the total energy consumption bymW144.003,mW181.815and13.524mW, respectively and in different proportions ofTX/RX (100/100,85/85, and75/75).
In the network containing70nodes, in the proposed protocol the rate of . has increasedPDRby22.81%,13.74% and8.5%.In terms of total power consumption, the proposed protocol reduced total power consumption by75.6mW63.9,mW43.82mW.
The results show that the proposed protocol succeeded in improving network performance by achieving a high percentage ofPDR, lower power consumption, compared to protocols such as(OF0,MRHOF,FYZZY,ERAOF,OFRRT-FUZZY,OFECF,RPL-FL,RPL-EC).
suggest protocolRPLMultipleSink node,in the70-nodenetwork, with nodessink (1,2,3), the rate wasPDRIt is80.43%,90.24%, and93.573%, and the total energy consumption ismW215.1,mW121.73and112mWrespectively.
The results also showed that the proposed protocol maintains good performance in the network containing100nodes, with a value ofPDRAnd the power consumption of the proposed protocol is88.73%,226.512mW, respectively, whilePDRIt is31.408%, and the power consumption is349.362mW, to protocolMRHOF.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dhiyya Mohammed Ali, and membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Rabie Muwafaq Hachim, Dr. Omar Ahmed Yousif, Assist. Prof. Dr. Salah AbdulGhani Jaro (Supervisor).
