Scientific Symposium on Creative Visions in the Past and Future of Architecture
Under the patronage and presence of Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamalaldeen Al-Ahmadi, Rector of University of Mosul, Department of Architecture Engineering at College of Engineering held its scientific symposium entitled (Creative Visions in the Past and Future of Architecture) on Monday, January 24, 2022, attended by Prof. Dr. Bayar Jaafar Al-Sulayvani, Dean of the College and a number of members of the University Council, the lecturers in the college and personalities from the city of Mosul.The Symposium started with a speech by Head of the Department of Architecture Engineering, Assist. Prof. Miqdam A. Majeed.The symposium aimed to determine the levels of creativity according to different points of view, to monitor the aspects of creativity in the architects’ experiences, and to research the possibility of investing it in new design cases.The axes of the symposium included revealing the creative visions of design solutions in the past of architecture locally and globally, and a presentation of the different aspects and levels of creativity in the architects’ experiences, as well as future aspirations to discover the possibilities and creative methods for solving various problems in architectural designs.The symposium recommended the possibility of investing aspects of creativity in new design cases in contemporary architecture to form a new horizon for the architectural designer and students of Architecture.On the sidelines of the symposium, the department held an exhibition of student projects, which was inaugurated by the Rector of the university and the Dean of the college. Its works embodied some of the creative projects of the most important Iraqi architects and how they approach their various creative projects and make absolute use of their creative visions and the possibility of extracting creative thought in achieving future design outputs.
