Under the patronage of the Rector Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamalaldeen Al-Ahmadi, Department of Mechanical Engineering held a Scientific Symposium entitled “Applications of Nanotechnology in Mechanical Engineering” on Thursday, 24/3/2022.Nanotechnology has been widely used in many engineering industries, including mechanical engineering applications, as a result of the unique mechanical and physical properties of these materials, which led to a revolution in the field of various engineering applications.The symposium dealt with the uses of nanomaterials to improve metal forming processes, increase the efficiency of coolant fluids in particular in automobile engines, and increase the efficiency of mechanical dampers. In addition to improving the efficiency of motors through some nanotechnologies and various other applications in the field of mechanical engineering.The Symposium was attended by Prof. Dr. Bayar Jaafer Al-Sulayvani (College of Engineering’s Dean), Heads of the departments in the College, Assist. Prof. Amer Yahya Aljarjees (Director of the Engineering Consultant Bureau), the lecturers and the students of the department. And constructive discussions took place in which the attendees praised the valuable information provided during this symposium.The symposium recommended on the importance of promoting research in this field, in addition to expanding the establishment of similar activities.
