College of Engineering Week Event 2022 – 3rd Day

Eight lectures were presented by college of engineering lecturers and Remote Sensing Center in the first session, the second session consisted of a participation by UNDP on its implemented projects and an engineering student competition.The first session was started by Prof. Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim (Head of Civil Engineering Department) gave a lecture on pavement mixtures , followed by Prof. Dr. Ayman Abdulhadi Abdulmawjood (Civil Engineering Department) also gave a lecture on Asphalt paving recycling materials. Then, group of students from Civil and Architectural Engineering Departments discuss a pioneering design project for Al-Amal Consultant Hospital. From environmental engineering department, Dr. Ammar Thamer Hamad, his lecture on dealing with rubble in city of Mosul. From mechatronics engineering, Dr. Hassan Mudhafar Saeed also gave a lecture on fluid mechanics to the study of drug carriers. Dr. Rashid Salim Abd from (Remote Sensing Center) presented al lecture on the measurements of Al-Hadbaa Minaret, followed by a lecture on the caves in northern Iraq by Mrs. Heba AbdulKarim Mohammed. The session ended by Dr. Bashar Munir Yahya gave a lecture on NASA satellites for observing the Earth’s climate.The second session included an explanation of the reconstruction projects managed by UNDP , followed by a student competition for selected groups of college students from all scientific departments, which ended with the victory of departments of architecture and electrical engineering, and prizes were awarded to the winners.Finally, members of UNDP organization made a field visit for a group of students to one of the university buildings under construction and explained the structural engineering details about it.
