UNIDO held a training course for Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering’s staff with affiliates from General Authority for Dams and Reservoirs, including engineers from Mosul Dam project. The new cooperation resumed with a course on OpenFOAM, an application concerned with simulating fluid flow and its multiple states.The course was held in Mosul Dam project, presented by Dr. Daniel Weldit from Austrian University of Boku, who was hosted for training on the application after several sessions held online during the previous quarantine period.The course lasts for six days, starting on Saturday 24/9/2022 .The course includes a general explanation of the nature of the programs and methods used to simulate the flow, and then a detailed explanation of the application and its capabilities and special tools, as well as experimenting with multiple examples.
