Master thesis defense on “Evaluating the performance of combined gas generation units operating with different solar modules”

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Mechanical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Evaluating the Performance of Compound Gas Generation Units Operated by Different Solar Units” submitted by (Rahma Luqman Ibrahim Saleh) on Thursday, Oct. 05, 2023.

The discussion was attended by Assist. Prof. Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, and a number of college lecturers and postgraduate students.

The thesis aimed to evaluate the desired benefit of applying both the combined generating units and the combined generating units integrated with solar energy on the simple gas units of the Amara station.
The thesis discussed the creation of a computer program to evaluate the performance of both the combined generating units and the integrated generating units with solar energy on the simple gas unit.
The results showed that connecting a simple gas unit with a steam unit using a dual-pressure steam generation system and creating a combined generating unit greatly affects improving the performance of the simple gas unit. Also, the idea of integrating a combined generating unit with a solar energy field has an effective role in obtaining better performance of the unit. Compound obstetrics.

The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed (Technological Institute of Technology / Hawija / Kirkuk), and the membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Saleh Mohammed Nayef, Dr. Ammar Younis Ibrahim, and under the supervision and membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Habbo Mohammed.
