Ph.D. dissertation on “Multi-hop Energy Efficient Cluster-based Routing Protocol Development for Internet of Things Networks”

Ph.D dissertation was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Multi-hop Energy Efficient Cluster-based Routing Protocol Development for Internet of Things Networks”, submitted by (Noor Raad Saadallah Ahmed), Supervised By Assist. Prof. Dr. Salah Abdulghani Jaro On Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023.
The dissertation aims to extend the operating life of networks, enhance their reliability, and make significant contributions to sustainable and resilient WSN and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems.
The dissertation discussed using intelligent algorithms to improve multi-hop energy-efficient cluster-based routing protocol development for Internet of Things networks. The thesis incorporates many methodologies, such as optimal cluster creation, cluster head selection, data packet compression, multi-hop communication, and time/event-based scheduling, to reduce network congestion, efficient energy consumer, and network lifetime increase.
The results showed the use of intelligent techniques had enhanced the performance of the proposed protocol in terms of that emphasizing the reduction of energy consumption, optimization of data transmission channels, minimizing communication overhead, and adaptation to dynamic network conditions, then increasing network lifetime.
