Scientific symposium on “Infrastructure for electric vehicle charging plants in Iraq: Mosul City as a model”

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamalaldeen Al-Ahmady / President of University of Mosul and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim / Dean of College of Engineering and the desire of Department of Electrical Engineering to highlight clean energies and new programs, policies and technologies that do not pollute the environment. The Department held the first scientific symposium for the academic year 2023-2024 entitled “Infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations in Iraq: Mosul City Model” on Tuesday, March 05, 2024 . The symposium was attended Assist Prof. Dr. Ayman Talib Hamid/Assist. Dean for Scientific Affairs, heads of departments, and staff of the college.
The symposium was opened with a speech by Head of department of Electrical Engineering, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tariq Yaseen, followed by a lecture presented by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Nasser B. Alsammak and Assist. Prof. Dr. Yasir Mohammed Yonis and also included recent lectures and the value of a group of lecturers of the department.
The symposium included several axes dealing with the clean energies and new programs, policies and technologies that do not pollute the environment.
The symposium concluded with a set of results and recommendations, which focused on highlighting clean energy, wired and wireless charging stations for electric vehicles effects and features, the impact of charging stations on the protection devices of the electrical power system, opportunities and options for electric car charging stations in Iraq, modern control systems used in charging stations.
