Dean of College of Engineering at University of Mosul Participates in Second Meeting of the Committee of Engineering Deans in Iraqi Universities

As part of efforts to strengthen academic collaboration and coordinate initiatives among engineering colleges in Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon, Dean of College of Engineering at University of Mosul, participated in the second meeting of the Committee of Engineering Deans. The meeting was held at College of Engineering, University of Diyala, on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

The meeting addressed several important topics, including the modernization of curricula to align with labor market demands and rapid technological advancements, the activation of academic accreditation committees to ensure the quality of engineering education, mechanisms for enhancing research and scientific cooperation among colleges, as well as reviewing proposals for establishing new undergraduate and postgraduate programs in both public and private engineering colleges and issuing appropriate recommendations regarding them.

The participation of College of Engineering at University of Mosul in this meeting reaffirms its leading role and distinguished status within Iraq’s engineering education system, and its ongoing commitment to contributing meaningfully to the development of education and research at the national level.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the presidency of University of Diyala honored the participating engineering deans with certificates of appreciation, in recognition of their efforts, initiative, and commitment in attending the meeting despite the travel distance.
