Training Course in Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering on ” Total Station ”
As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul, and within its efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 17: “Partnerships for the Goals”— Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering held a training course titled “Introduction to the Total Station Device and Its Applications” from July 13 to July 17, 2025.
The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Muqdad Abdulghani, Head of Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering; Lecturer Mohammed Awni Khattab, the department’s coordinator; and Engineer Nizar Hassan Yousif.
During the course, participants were introduced to the Total Station surveying device, its working mechanism, and the use of some surveying programs. The topographic survey program was also explained and applied practically. At the end of the course, an assessment was conducted for the participants.
The course targeted recent graduates who are about to enter the labor market, as well as current students. It focused on developing one of the essential skills required in civil and surveying engineering disciplines.
