Academic Involvement of Faculty Members from College of Engineering, University of Mosul, in a Ministerial Committee to Evaluate the Establishment of New Academic Departments at Al-Hadba University

In line with its commitment to supporting the advancement of higher education in Iraq and its active participation in specialized ministerial committees, University of Mosul continues to contribute significantly to national academic initiatives. This aligns with the university’s broader efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education.
Within this framework, Assistant Professor Dr. Sufyan Younis Ahmed and Assistant Professor Dr. Uday Asal Salih, faculty members from Department of Civil Engineering at College of Engineering, took part in an official field visit to Al-Hadba University. Their participation was in their capacity as members of the ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the establishment of new academic departments.
The primary objective of the visit was to assess the available resources and institutional readiness for the proposed establishment of Departments of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The committee conducted an extensive on-site evaluation, which included inspecting the university’s infrastructure, lecture halls, and laboratory facilities. Additionally, the committee held meetings with academic and administrative staff members to determine the institution’s academic and technical preparedness.
This academic engagement underscores the prominent role played by the University of Mosul’s faculty members in national educational development efforts. It also reflects the College of Engineering’s dedication to promoting academic growth and supporting the creation of modern scientific disciplines in Iraqi universities.
