New Research Publication in Field of Civil Engineering in a Reputable German Journal Indexed in Scopus (Q3) and Clarivate

As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul, and in alignment with its efforts to achieve United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure—
Assistant Lecturer Iyad Abdullah Mousa, in collaboration with Assistant Professor Jasim Mohammed Abd and Lecturer Mohammed Hisham Shukur, published a new scientific research paper in the field of Civil Engineering on July 2, 2025. The paper is titled “Effect of Supplementary Cementitious Materials on Corrosion Resistance of Reinforced Concrete”.
The study was published in the journal Civil and Environmental Engineering, which is indexed in Scopus (Q3) and Clarivate Analytics.
This research investigates the impact of supplementary cementitious materials on the corrosion resistance of reinforced concrete. The findings revealed exceptional improvements, including a compressive strength of up to 70.7 MPa, a 68% reduction in chloride permeability, and an 81% reduction in steel corrosion compared to conventional concrete.
This publication reflects College of Engineering’s dedication to advancing scientific research and innovation in support of sustainable infrastructure and academic excellence.
