On Thursday, August 28, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon, Dean of College of Engineering, welcomed Professor Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayyat, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of University of Mosul, and Professor Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim, Vice President of University for Scientific Affairs, during an official visit aimed at reviewing the innovative scientific projects undertaken by the college’s researchers.

The delegation was introduced to a pioneering research project jointly developed by scholars from Departments of Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, represented by a drone aircraft system.

The research team delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the project’s concept, future objectives, and its potential applications in serving the community and various institutions, particularly in the fields of civil defense, rescue operations, and carbon footprint assessment.

At the conclusion of the visit, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee of Higher Education and President of the University commended the dedication and creativity of the researchers, emphasizing their commitment to supporting scientific initiatives that foster the advancement of higher education, strengthen innovation, and contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals in service of society.
