Master thesis in Department of Electrical Engineering on ” Design and Improvement of a Four-Port Diplexer for Highly Interference Rejection “

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled ” Design and Improvement of a Four-Port Diplexer for Highly Interference Rejection ” Supervised By Assist. Prof. Dr. Saad Wasmi Osman Luhaib On Tuesday, September, 2, 2025.
The thesis presented by, “Halah Rageh Mahmood Hameed” proposed a technique for achieving high Tx/Rx signal isolation through the cancellation of microwave interference
The thesis discusses “Dual-mode microstrip BPFs based on folded resonators were designed and integrated into a four-port diplexer. Analytical modeling and HFSS simulations were conducted to evaluate key parameters (S11, S21, isolation), with optimization improving isolation and suppressing spurious responses. The proposed diplexer model was validated by comparing analytical and simulation results.””
The results showed “”Well-matched to 5G application requirements, the integration of a BPF with a 180° phase shift and asymmetric feed significantly enhances isolation and selectivity, introduces strategic transmission zeros, and improves return loss through impedance matching, all without compromising efficiency.”
The current study is considered one of the sustainable studies to achieve the sustainable development goals, especially the ninth goal “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” and the eleventh goal “Sustainable Cities and Communities” by proposing a technique to achieve high isolation between the transmission and reception signals by eliminating microwave interference.
