Master thesis defense in Department of Electrical Engineering on ” Determining Optimal Location and Capacity of Renewable Energy Systems for Electric Power Grid by Intelligent Techniques “

A Master thesis was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at  University of Mosul entitled “Determining Optimal Location and Capacity of Renewable Energy Systems for Electric Power Grid by Intelligent Techniques”, Supervised By assistant Prof. Dr. Omar Sharaf AL-Deen Yehya ALyozbaky On Wednesday, September,3, 2025.
The thesis presented by, “Sayf Samir Sabry Ali”, aimed “Integrating renewable energies, especially solar and wind energy, with electrical distribution networks in an optimal manner to raise the efficiency of the distribution system and improve the operational indicators of the network within a balanced economic framework, in addition to reducing the emissions of harmful gases from generation sources that rely on fossil fuels”
The thesis discusses “Using intelligent optimization algorithms such as the Hybrid-Dynamic Particles Swarm Optimization algorithm in the proposed method in order to obtain the optimal location and capacity of renewable energy systems within the distribution networks to achieve the objectives within a multi-objective function that includes technical and economic objectives”

The results showed “The proposed method is effective in various conditions or scenarios faced by electrical distribution systems and renewable energies, such as changing in load demand during the day, taking into account the peak period of residential and commercial loads as well as industrial loads. The proposed method also took into account changes in the productivity of renewable energies during the day as a result of weather fluctuations during the day”

The current study is considered one of the sustainable studies to achieve the sustainable development goals, especially the ninth goal “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” and the eleventh goal “Sustainable Cities and Communities” through the use of renewable energy, which is characterized by being free, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy.
