Training Course in Department of Civil Engineering on “Towards a Sustainable Built Environment: The Role of Eco-Friendly Concrete”

As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul, and in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Department of Civil Engineering organized a training course entitled “Towards a Sustainable Built Environment: The Role of Eco-Friendly Concrete”, held from October 26 to 30, 2025.

The course aimed to introduce participants to the latest sustainable construction materials and their vital role in enhancing the structural performance, durability, and sustainability of buildings and infrastructures.

The course was supervised and lectured by Asst. Prof. Dr. Baraa Jabbar Mahmood, along with Dr. Mohammed Shakeeb Mohammed, Lecturer Ruaa Suhail Mohammed, Asst. Lecturer Rifaa Dalee Hamad, and Asst. Lecturer Zahraa Mohammed Shakir.

The program included introductory sessions on modern sustainable construction materials, global trends in their application, and the importance of material selection in improving the performance and cost-efficiency of engineering structures. A final assessment will be conducted for the participants at the end of the course.
