Workshop by the Psychological Counseling Division at College of Engineering, University of Mosul “The Thin Line Between Documentation and Espionage: A Legal and Psychological Perspective on Recording”

The Psychological Counseling Division at College of Engineering, in cooperation with University Psychological Counseling Department, held a workshop titled “The Thin Line Between Documentation and Espionage: A Legal and Psychological Perspective on Recording” on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in the Environmental Engineering Department.

The workshop aimed to clarify the legal and ethical boundaries between legitimate documentation and unlawful surveillance, outlining the legal framework governing recording in academic and professional settings. It also highlighted the psychological impact of espionage on trust and relationships, emphasizing respect for privacy and ethical behavior in handling information.

Lectures were delivered by Dr. Riad Hazem Fathi (College of Education for Humanities) and Dr. Rana Abdul-Munim Al-Sarraf (College of Law).
At the end of the session, the speakers received certificates of appreciation, presented by Dr. Bassam Ihsan Abdulqader, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs.
