Scientific Field Visit for PhD Students in Department of Architecture to Old Mosul
Department of Architecture at College of Engineering organized a scientific field visit for PhD students to Old Mosul on Monday, November 17, 2025, as part of the requirements for the Advanced Urban Design and Research Methodology courses.
The visit was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Imad Hani Ismail Al-Allaf and Asst. Prof. Dr. Khawla Fayyad. It included visits to Mosul city center and the Mosul Museum, along with key urban nodes and gathering areas. Students explored major urban landmarks in the area, including Eastern Preparatory School, Al-Saray Market, Khan Al-Kamark, Al-Basha Mosque, Al-Aghawat Mosque, and several alleys in Old Mosul featuring restored traditional Mosuli houses.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the urban fabric and heritage of Old Mosul, supporting their research and design projects in urban studies.
