Higher Diploma Research on “Study and simulation of parameters Affecting under water Acoustic communication channel”

A Higher Diploma Research was discussed in Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering at University of Mosul entitled “Study and simulation of parameters Affecting under water Acoustic communication channel” submitted by (Zaenab mouayd salih), Supervised By(Dr. Farhad Ezaldeen Mahmood)on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.The Research studied the Acoustic channel and the factors that affect it, and then we studied the possibility of using OFDM technology with this type of communication and modeled the OFDM communication system with Rayleigh channel. The results showed that the absorption coefficient increases with increasing frequency, while it decreases as the depth increases and the temperature decreases, a path loss was calculated for the shallow water and the deep water the results show that the path loss increases in shallow water and decreases in deep water because the increase in higher of the depth and decrease in temperature the absorption coefficient will decrease, and therefore the path loss will decreases also. And we studied the noise that affects underwater acoustic communications and we know the frequencies that each type of noise affects. The OFDM system was simulated with Rayleigh channel in MATLAB environment. We get a series of OFDM symbols and obtained a BER bit error rate with SNR signal to noise ratio, frequency and depth.
