College of Environmental Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, the College of Environmental Sciences/Department of Environmental Health, in cooperation with the University of Mosul Presidency/Department of Studies and Planning/Sustainable Development Unit, held a workshop entitled “Metabolic Diseases and Their Impact on the Body.”

The workshop was presented by:

The workshop highlighted metabolic diseases by explaining their causes, mechanisms, and effects on the body’s organs, while also discussing metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and lipid disorders. It presented the latest findings on inflammation and oxidative stress, in addition to assessment and prevention methods based on nutrition and physical activity, and concluded with recommendations to promote awareness and early detection. The workshop contributed to achieving five of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 2, Goal 3, Goal 4, Goal 10, and Goal 17.
