A workshop on civil defense and first aid was held at the College of Environmental Sciences.

 

Under the patronage of Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, the Women’s Affairs Committee, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency, held a workshop entitled “Early Warning Systems and Learning the Principles of Civil Defense, First Aid, Swimming, Driving, and Self-Defense.” The workshop took place on Sunday morning, April 13, 2024, in the college’s discussion hall.

The workshop was delivered by Mr. Sufyan Idris Al-Barzanji, Director of the Civil Defense Division at the University of Mosul.

The workshop included an introduction to civil defense and its role in protecting lives and property, an introduction to the types of fire extinguishers and training on how to use them, as well as emergency response and proper evacuation plans.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of public safety and provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to deal with emergencies, particularly firefighting.

Launch of the training course at the College of Environmental Sciences on the use of modern technologies to monitor climate change.
The attendance and participation of members and students of the College of Environmental Sciences, led by the Dean of the College, Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, in the activities of the University of Mosul's 58th founding anniversary celebration. Our college participated by displaying a number of scientific equipment and distributing brochures on the importance of tree planting using bicycles. Other activities contributed to preserving the environment at the celebration sites.
