The College of Environmental Sciences discusses a master’s thesis on evaluating the efficiency of the new Ayman water project using molecular and physicochemical indicators.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Omar Idris, the Master’s thesis defense, entitled “Evaluating the Efficiency of the New Al-Ayman Water Project Using Molecular and Physicochemical Indicators in the City of Mosul,” was held this morning, Monday, September 1, 2025, in the hall of the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering.
The defense committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Owais Muwaffaq Hamid, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Rawaa Mahmoud Daoud and Assistant Professor Ashraf Siddiq Elias, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Khalil Abdullah and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ismail Muhammad.
The study aimed to examine the water quality of the New Al-Ayman Water Project by measuring several physical, chemical, and biological characteristics and comparing the values and concentrations of these studied characteristics with international and Iraqi standards to determine the efficiency of this vital project. The study also achieved five Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 14 (Life Below Water).
At the conclusion of the discussion, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Owais Muwaffaq Hamid, University of Mosul/College of Science, in recognition of his distinguished academic efforts.
